ISO 22000:2018: the only international management standard that includes all the principles of food safety.

What are the main changes?

  •  Adaptation to the high-level structure, common to ISO management standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.) to facilitate integration with other management systems.
  •  New approach based on the risk management of the organisation (finances, productivity, interested parties, etc.) and in the operational field of the HACCP system.
  •  Modification and clarification of requirements regarding communication, management of emergencies, selection of control measures, control plan for Critical Control Points (CCP) and Prerequisite programmes (PPR) or validation of the control measures, etc.
  •  PDCA cycle of continuous improvement. Two PDCA cycles, that apply: one directly to the management system, and another jointly to the management system and to the HACCP system.
