New version 3.0 of the Regulations for the Welfair® Animal Welfare certification

Training for responsible operators and internal auditors

Version 3.0 of the General Regulations for Welfair® Animal Welfare certification was published in May. This document, published by the Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology of Catalonia (IRTA), introduces a series of changes aimed at improving the certification process.

One of the new features addresses mandatory training for lead operators and internal auditors in the case of multi-site companies. The aim is to align the results of the internal audits of Welfair® Protocols with the certification audits. This requirement will be enforced from January 2023.

This training, backed by IRTA, is adapted to each species included in the certification scheme and taught by certification auditors with the necessary qualifications for each course.

AENOR has qualified auditors with extensive audit experience and teaching skills and implements courses adapted to the following species:

  • Pork
  • Dairy cows
  • Cattle for fattening
  • Laying hens
  • Chickens for fattening
  • Rabbits

New dates will be published shortly FOR ALL SPECIES INCLUDED IN THE Welfair® Animal Welfare CERTIFICATION SCHEME
