AENOR offers you the verification solution for electro-intensive certified companies. This verification is mandatory for companies with this rating, in order to obtain subsidies included in the Royal Decree 1106/2020: Statute of Electricity-intensive consumers and the Order announcing the granting of these subsidies.
The electro-intensive sector is formed by those industries that are energy-intensive, for which energy and electricity management are the primary factors in their processes. These activities generally belong to the basic industry, which is the one dedicated to the processing of raw materials and therefore requires a greater amount of labour and energy that other industrial sectors. In these industries, energy costs can reach 50% of production costs.
The Ministerial Statute states that all solutions must include a Report reviewed by a verifier accredited by the Spanish Accreditation Body (ENAC) or any other National Agency to certify the part of the electrical consumption intended for activities in the sectors listed in Annex I of this Order, as well as, for said consumption, the amount of access tolls paid during 2021.
This verification will take place every year, i.e. it is recurring and the beneficiaries of these subsidies must have, an audited Energy Management system that combines energy performance indicators according to the before two years from their first consideration as an Electrointensive User (Electrointensive consumer certification granted by the Ministry) standard UNE-EN ISO 50001:2018.
A gas intensive industry is one that consumes large amounts of natural gas during its production processes. Examples include manufacturers of ceramics, glass, paper and cardboard.
Consists of issuing a report reviewed by an accredited verifier, which certifies the part of the consumption of natural gas that is used for activities in the sectors listed in the Annex (of the Order that governs the rules for the helpline to offset the additional costs due to the exceptional increase in the price of natural gas) corresponding to the eligible and reference periods.
Goals of this solution:
- To improve the competitiveness of natural gas intensive industries by trying to alleviate the situation resulting from the high energy prices by contributing to maintaining the activity and the use of the facilities.
- To encourage these industries to undertake energy efficiency investments and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the use of fossil fuels in their facilities.
Sectors with energy management policy. All those organisations that want to demonstrate that they have introduced an energy management system, make greater use of renewable or excess energy, and/or have systematised their energy processes, attempting to bring them into line with the organisation's energy policy.
All certifications related to energy efficiency, especially the standard standard UNE-EN ISO 50001:2018.
