Measurement equipment and processes: improve performance

The Standard UNE-EN ISO 10012:2003 on Metrology Management specifies generic requirements for measurement processes and equipment. It provides guidance for managing measurement processes and for the metrological confirmation of the measurement equipment used to support and demonstrate compliance with metrological requirements.

Interested parties can agree to use this standard to start fulfilling requirements for the measurement management system with respect to certification activities.

Benefits for your company:

  • Reduced development and quality costs.
  • Greater control and knowledge of product performance processes.
  • Easy integration with other management systems due to similar structures.
  • Source for implementing improvements.
  • Demonstrate clear understanding of customers' requirements.

  • All users of quality management standards and other management areas that require measurement to proof comformity of their products and services and/or legal, environmental or labour compliance.
  • Users of specific industry standards of quality management, automotive industry, aerospace (UNE-EN 9100, PECAL Series 2000, ISO/TS 16949, among others) which recommend the application or require conformity with the standard.
  • Manufacturers, repairers and testers of measurement instruments, under the new European regulations on the legal metrological control of measurement instruments (in Spain, Royal Decree 889:2006 of 21 July for the CE mark).
  • Accredited and non-accredited calibration laboratories in ISO/IEC 17025 that wish to demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of their metrology systems.
  • Inspection companies, either in general or in compliance with regulations.

This can easily be integrated with other pre-existing certifications, such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, PECAL, UNE-EN 9100 , etc.

Once the audit has been completed, the system implemented will be aligned with the requirements of the Standard UNE-EN ISO 10012 , and therefore your organisation obtains:

  • The AENOR Certificate for Metrology Management Systems.
  • User licence for the AENOR Metrology Management mark.
