AENOR certifies the COVID-19 protocols in all MAPFRE facilities in Spain

15/02/2021

  • More than 350 office buildings, medical centres, workshops and other spaces have been certified for following strict COVID-19 protocols.

15 February 2021. MAPFRE obtains the certification Certification of Protocols against COVID-19 of AENOR for its facilities in Spain, which accredits the protocols and measures put in place by the company against COVID-19. Strict compliance with the COVID-19 protocols in more than 350 of the group's spaces and subsidiaries, including office buildings, medical centres, vehicle service centres and other facilities, has allowed MAPFRE to obtain this certification.

The acknowledgement implies that these 350 locations are places where the most up-to-date protocols and national and international recommendations are correctly implemented so that people who access them, whether they are employees, customers, suppliers or others, are as protected as possible. This certification has been awarded following visits and inspections carried out by AENOR to the different MAPFRE facilities to ensure that all the necessary measures are complied with to minimise the risk of contagion. These controls will continue to be carried out periodically by AENOR to ensure that the strict protocols implemented continue to be complied with.

Gonzalo Piédrola, Director of AENOR for the Central Region and EMEA, was responsible for handing the certification to Rosa Mª Lago Espejo-Saavedra, representing MAPFRE ESPAÑA and Jacinto Muñoz, on behalf of MAPFRE S.A.

"This certification is the result of MAPFRE's commitment to the safety of its customers, employees and third parties; And the result of the joint work of several areas of MAPFRE, Human Resources, Media and Security, which once again highlight the Group's service vocation," said Guillermo Llorente, MAPFRE's Group Head of Security.

For his part, Ángel Luis Sánchez Cerón, the director of AENOR in for the Central Region and EMEA, stated that "this certification generates confidence amongst all the groups involved. This step is consistent with MAPFRE's service quality and its strive for continuous improvement."

For MAPFRE, people's health and safety is an important priority, which is why, since the pandemic began, it has adapted its spaces and protocols to minimise the potential for contagion. The hygiene and disinfection standards of the facilities were already high. They have also intensified further with the onset of the pandemic, with the aim of ensuring that no one entering a MAPFRE facility feels unprotected against COVID-19.

In addition, the insurance company's employees receive training on COVID-19 prevention measures and hydroalcoholic gel dispensers have been installed in all spaces. All work stations and common areas are regularly disinfected and employees are provided with certified face masks and virtual tools are used to prevent face-to-face meetings, among other measures introduced.
