El Corte Inglés, the first distribution company for which AENOR audits the analytical control plan of its private-label food suppliers

22/05/2023

El Corte Inglés has launched a new audit system through AENOR. The purpose of these audits, aimed at its private-label food suppliers (El Corte Inglés, Aliada, Special Line, El Corte Inglés Selection and El Club del Gourmet) is to verify that the analyses performed by the suppliers of El Corte Inglés are in accordance with the most demanding quality parameters, according to the company's own specifications. This process will also strengthen the food safety of its private-label products.

As a result, El Corte Inglés becomes the first distribution company for which AENOR audits the analytical control plan of its private-label food suppliers.

The AENOR audit team, which has extensive experience and knowledge in the food sector, will analyse the level of implementation of the analytical plan of each El Corte Ingles provider, and will verify, among other matters, that it is in accordance with the law and with the company's quality criteria.

The goals of this new plan include various aspects such as: reinforcing the food safety of private-label products; verifying all the controls that these suppliers carry out on their food products; identifying weaknesses in the controls and areas of improvement; continuous progress and monitoring of emerging risks; improved control of the batches produced and raw materials; as well as greater transparency and synergies with these suppliers. Among other advantages, the company will obtain additional analytical information on its products, thus reinforcing their traceability.
