Transfesa Logistics, the first company in the rail sector to obtain the AENOR Zero Waste certification

17/02/2023

  • AENOR's Zero Waste certificate recognizes organizations that recover at least 90% of their waste
  • This project is part of the company's action plan to achieve SDG 12, 'Responsible Consumption and Production', which directly contributes to the necessary shift towards a more circular economy

17 February 2023 Transfesa Logistics has received the certificate AENOR Zero Waste, which verifies that the company recovers more than 90% of its waste, giving it a second life and keeping it out of the landfill.

It is the first company in the rail sector to obtain this certificate, which proves that the company has a waste management system in accordance with the requirements of Regulation RP-CSG-057, the most demanding in its category.

The application of a circular model is one of the central tenets of the environmental policy of Transfesa Logistics, which has been recognized as Zero Waste thanks to the improvement of its waste generation and management processes.

The organized management of waste has allowed it to be reused and/or processed so it can be reintroduced into the value chain and generate a positive effect on the conservation of natural resources and biodiversity.

The AENOR certificate is in addition to those already obtained by the company in the areas of the environment and energy: ISO 14001 and ISO 50001, while also contributing to achieving SDG 12: responsible production and consumption, one of the company's priority sustainable development goals.
