SEUR, the first company in Spain to obtain the AENOR ISO 23412 certificate for temperature-controlled transport

25/01/2023

  • ISO 23412 certifies organizations that make deliveries at controlled temperatures of refrigerated parcels containing products sensitive to temperature, such as fresh foods
  • This certificate recognizes SEUR frio's management excellence and its effort to continuously improve its performance in this area

25 January 2023 This morning, at an event held at the headquarters of SEUR in Madrid, AENOR handed the leading urgent transport company the ISO 23412 certificate, making it the first in the sector in Spain to receive it. This certification, launched in March 2021, accredits land transport services for the delivery of parcels with intermediate transfer at controlled and refrigerated temperatures. SEUR cold, the company's controlled temperature transport solution, complies with these requirements at all stages of the service, from acceptance (reception) of a refrigerated parcel from the user to its delivery at the designated destination. In this regard, SEUR frio also covers the certification requirements with regard to the intermediate transfer of refrigerated parcels between refrigerated vehicles or containers using a geographical routing system.

This AENOR certificate is an acknowledgement of SEUR's excellence in management and commitment in terms of security and guarantees, in a service that the company launched in 2002 and which it relies on to urgently transport food at controlled temperatures (between 2 and 8 degrees), with next-day delivery before 1:30 pm. The validation process for attaining the certification lasted one year and involved 40 professionals from different departments. This certificate also allows for an improvement in operating procedures, as well as in the information provided to customers on the labels.

The SEUR frio service is intended for food companies within the meat, fish, vegetable, gourmet and refrigerated beverage sectors.

Benjamin Calzón, SEUR's Operations Manager, said during the event that "we are proud to have received this certification, which recognizes our commitment to quality in temperature-controlled transport. SEUR frio is one of the company's flagship products and a leader in its segment, and this recognition motivates us even more to continue working in the same direction".

Javier Mejía, AENOR's Marketing and Business Development Director, tasked with presenting this certificate, noted that "SEUR has demonstrated that it has a comprehensive concept of the service it provides to society, and a commitment to constant improvement. This certification also shows that it is at the forefront of new demands in the area of urgent transport. It's a source of motivation for AENOR to work with companies that are leading the way in their markets".

A great investment in innovation to offer a high-quality service

SEUR invested over one million euros in an innovative system, based on the Internet of Things (IoT), which guarantees temperature traceability from the moment of collection until delivery. To this end, more than 1,000 temperature measuring devices with NB-IoT technology were installed in all the refrigerated cargo units, such as delivery vehicles, containers, and in a hundred cold chambers in SEUR's network.
