MAPFRE, the first company in the insurance sector to receive AENOR's Compliance Management Systems certificate

2 February.- MAPFRE S.A. has received the certificate of AENOR of Compliance Management System, which recognizes the effective implementation of the leading standard, UNE-ISO 37301:2021, in the field of regulatory compliance. After successfully completing the audit of the company's Compliance department, MAPFRE S.A. has become the first company in the insurance sector and the third Spanish company to obtain this recognition from AENOR.

AENOR has certified MAPFRE's commitment to complying with both its legal obligations and with international standards and best practices in developing a model to prevent the risks of non-compliance. The audit confirms that MAPFRE complies with all the requirements of the UNE-ISO 37301:2021 standard, which provides organizations with a framework and guidelines for establishing, implementing, assessing, maintaining and improving an effective compliance management system.

The distinction also demonstrates MAPFRE's public commitment to the culture of compliance and with principles and values that govern its day-to-day activities. The insurance company is committed to compliance as an increasingly relevant function that contributes to the sustainability of the organization and generates value for its stakeholders, to whom the company conveys its unequivocal desire to operate within the framework of the law and its capacity to minimize compliance risks.

Enrique Megia, AENOR's Director in the Community of Madrid, stated that "with this certification, MAPFRE strengthens its mechanisms for controlling and managing its obligations, as well as the trust that government agencies, customers and society in general place in it".

The Compliance Management System is part of the foundation on which MAPFRE builds its institutional commitment to conduct all its activities and businesses in accordance with strict ethical standards.
