Emacsa, the first public water utility company in Spain to obtain the AENOR Road Traffic Safety certificate

  • The municipal company receives four certificates that recognise its excellence in Road Traffic Safety, Health and Safety, Environment and Quality.

13 January 2021. Emacsa, the first public water utility company in Spain to obtain the AENOR Road Traffic Safety certificate from AENOR, according to the Standard UNE ISO 39001:2013 In addition to renewing three other certifications.

The president of Emacsa, Ramón Díaz-Castellanos, accompanied by the managing director, Rafael Carlos Serrano, and the director of Systems Management, Antonia Gómez, who expressed their "great satisfaction and recognition to the entire workforce" on being handed the four certificates from the director of AENOR in Andalusia, Antonio Pérez Carreño. The granting of these certificates "recognises Emacsa's excellent management and involvement in continuous improvement in different areas, such as Road Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management and Quality Management."

With regard to the new certificate obtained by Emacsa on road safety, it should be noted that the purpose is to have an effective tool to help organisations that interact with the road system to reduce traffic accidents and their consequences. The long term objective is to reduce and ultimately eliminate the rate and risk of deaths and serious injuries caused by road traffic accidents, involving all public and private organisations that have an impact on road safety.

This standard is presented in the form of best practices for a road safety management system, basing its success on the commitment of all those who work in the organisation, or on behalf of it, from top management to operations staff.

Emacsa has also renewed its certificates for Quality Management System (ISO Standard 9001:2015) Environmental Management System (ISO Standard 14001:2015) and has obtained the ISO Standard 45001:2018 Migration Certificate on Health and Safety Management Systems.
