All ports in Tenerife obtain ISO 14001

22/01/2019

The La Santa Cruz de Tenerife Port Authority has just renewed its certificate in Environmental Management, in compliance with ISO 14001, this time including the ports of Granadilla, La Palma, La Gomera, El Hierro and Los Cristianos.

ISO 14001 is the international Standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS), which helps companies identify, prioritise and manage environmental risks as part of their normal business practices. It has been conceived to be applied in any organisation regardless of its size, sector or geographical location.

as regards Tenerife's Port Authority, the certificate covers activities as varied as urban and project management and construction work for the six port area; providing general services and administering technical-nautical port services, in addition to commercial services related to water and electricity supply.
