AENOR has granted certification of COVID-19 Protocols to Médicos del Mundo (the Spanish branch of the Doctors of the World network).
The assessment performed by AENOR evaluates different aspects carried out, such as risk management, occupational health management, training, information and communication; the organisational and protection measures, as well as good cleaning and hygiene practices, among other things.
The certificate is an external endorsement of the effectiveness of safety measures implemented by the organisation and that it also complies with the guidelines established by the Ministry of Health on matters of COVID-19 prevention and hygiene. Once the mark has been granted it is valid for a year, but must be monitored every three months.
Médicos del Mundo has launched a comprehensive safety action plan to prevent the spread of the virus, protecting both the permanent staff and volunteer staff, and, above all, the people they assist. For example, it has promoted teleworking, drastically reduced the occupancy of its offices and provided high-quality PPE to its front-line teams. It has also provided preventive training to people who do not normally receive it through the media, or because of their living conditions or because they do not speak the language.
The organisation has made an intensive effort over the past year to combat the pandemic, providing its experience in hospitals and care homes, supporting the most vulnerable groups and providing social healthcare , as well as continuing with their international work in this emergency.
