UNE-EN ISO 14001:2015 to the Provincial Council of Biscay and the town halls of the 15 beaches that hold these certifications, in recognition of the work they have carried out in recent years.
La Arena, Ereaga, Arrigunaga, Arriatera-Atxabiribil, Plentzia, Gorliz, Bakio, Aritzatxu, Laida, Laga, Ea, Ogella, Isuntza, Karraspio and Arrigorri have completed the process of adaption to the new requirements established in these quality and environmental standards.
The implementation and development of the integral management system applied for achieving and maintaining the certifications is aimed at a more respectful use of the natural environment that makes up the coastline in Biscay and allows all users to enjoy better quality beaches. To do this, the system includes the launch of programmes directed at providing the highest quality services and reducing the environmental impacts the beaches suffer as a result of their use as leisure space by more than 2 million people.
