The Tarragona Municipal Public Transport Company (EMT) recently renewed its certificates for Gestión de la Calidad and of Public Passenger Transport.
The Standard ISO 9001 Quality Management improves processes and eliminates the costs of non-quality; it achieves greater involvement of the professionals by achieving work that is well done and sustainable. It also leads to a stronger conviction in transmitting commitment to quality to all the audiences of an organisation, in addition to being an ideal platform from which to move towards other certifications.
The standard UNE-EN 13816 Standard on Public Passenger Transport provides guidelines to operators so that they can take on quality commitments when providing their services, with the aim of satisfying their customers' expectations. Quality commitments must comply with guidelines including: time, comfort, information, accessibility, safety, service offered, customer service and environmental impact. This provides a more competitive public transport offer in response to these demands.
