On 12 March, ISO 45001 was published, the first international standard to Manage Occupational Health and Safety

21/06/2018

The ISO 45001 will cause the OHSAS 18001 standard to be repealed, for which certified companies will have a three-year deadline to migrate to the new standard.

Given the need to harmonise occupational health and safety systems using an international standard, and sharing the best preventive practices, AENOR ISO 45001 Certification is the ideal tool for all organisations in search of continual improvement, regardless of their size, type and sector, to manage their occupational health and safety risks while being more efficient and effective, reducing accidents and illnesses, and increasing operability thanks to reduced situations of emergencies and sick leave.

Some of the benefits available to organisations after implementation of a health and safety at work management system in accordance with ISO 45001 are:

  • Decrease in the number of work-related injuries, illnesses and deaths.
  • Eradication of hazards or reduction in SST-related risks.
  • Improvement in SST performance and effectiveness.
  • Shows commitment to corporate responsibility.
  • Protects brand reputation.
  • Encourages employee motivation and commitment through consultation and participation.
  • Helps organisations to raise awareness and develop a culture of accident prevention.
