AENOR will contribute to the reduction of emissions in countries in South America and Asia

01/10/2021

The World Bank has selected AENOR to carry out three validation and verification projects as part of GHG emission reduction programmes in Costa Rica, Indonesia and Chile, based on the criteria of the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF).

FCPF is a global partnership of governments, businesses, civil society, and Indigenous Peoples focused on reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation, forest carbon stock conservation, the sustainable management of forests, and the enhancement of forest carbon stocks in developing countries, activities commonly referred to as REDD+.

The FCPF pilots results-based payments to countries that have advanced through REDD+ readiness and implementation and have achieved verifiable emission reductions in their forests.

The three contracts will be managed by the Climate Change team of the AENOR International Projects Management during 2021 and 2022.
