AENOR is the first Spanish company to be accredited by the international organisation VERRA, under the new standard "Sustainable Development Verified Impact Standard" (SDVISta), to certify projects by public and private organisations related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
The accreditation allows to AENOR to begin auditing and certifying the processes of those organisations that are developing activities aligned with SDG. In the first phase, AENOR has been accredited for the following objectives: 7 Affordable Energy, 9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities, 12 Responsible Production and Consumption, 13 Climate Action and 15 Life on Land. Even so, work is already underway with VERRA to formally accredit the other SDG.
The SDVISta scheme allows organisations to obtain real value, as it makes it possible to differentiate their projects from those of their competitors, giving them a better chance of obtaining funding and, in parallel, opening new markets. The certification demonstrates the organisation's commitment through evaluation, in addition to systematic and transparent communication of the economic, social and environmental impacts of its initiatives.
