The University Hospital La Paz has received twenty quality certifications from AENOR. Of these, 16 are certifications for the quality of its services, in addition to the Global Quality Management System Certificate for hospitals, which includes all these certifications. Certificates in Social Responsibility, Food Safety and Environmental Management were also presented.
At an event held recently at the University Hospital La Paz, the ISO 9001 Quality certifications that are integrated in the hospital's Integrated Global Management System were presented to the centre's services of Physics and Radiation Protection, Radiology, Hospitable Pharmacy, Intensive Care Medicine, Clinical Microbiology and Parasitology, Catering Services, General Management Services, Maintenance and Information and Patient Care; to the departments of Radiopharmacy, Medical Education and Training and its High Level Isolation Unit (HLIU), to its Institute of Medical Molecular Genetics, as well as to the Regional Satellite Breast Milk Bank and the Clinical Haematology and Immunology laboratories.
Thus, quality certifications, previously awarded to individual services, have now adapted to the new quality standards, and are awarded as integrated quality certificates to the hospital as a whole.
Twelve months ago, the first six individual quality management systems for services were integrated into the environmental, corporate social responsibility and food safety management systems. New services have now been incorporated into the hospital's Integrated Global Management System, including to date, 19 certifications in the ISO 9001, 14001, 22000 and IQNet SR10 standards.
Gonzalo Piédrola, AENOR's Director of the Central Region and Europe, presented the certificates to Rafael Pérez-Santamarina, Executive Director of the University Hospital La Paz.
These certificates acknowledge the commitment by the University Hospital La Paz to quality, environmental management, food safety, social responsibility and good governance.
