Santander Spain renews the AENOR certificate of excellence for Corporate Banking Consulting

22/07/2021

  • The AENOR audit certifies Santander Spain's excellence in corporate banking because of its level of management and its customer service.

22 July 2021. Santander Spain has renewed its certificate of AENOR of Corporate Banking Consulting for its network of corporate branches in Spain. This certificate accredits Santander Spain's excellence in business banking and the fact that it meets the AENOR technical specification requirements regarding corporate financial advisory services.

The certification process entailed identifying the "how", meaning the way in which the entity is managing the business banking advisory services it provides. This is a fundamental part of improving and systematizing the organization's business models. It establishes four key lines in order to achieve its objectives: emphasis on leadership in the area of quality; credibility of the message issued by senior management; building trust and responsibility for the quality initiative among employees and, lastly, providing excellence of service.

Similarly, it addresses two very important areas in this field, risk management and the ethical principles that must be taken into account to provide a service that can be deemed excellent.

Ángel Rivera, Head of Commercial Banking in Santander Spain, pointed out that "this certification improves management in Corporate Banking advisory services, increases the quality of indicators with a focus on customers, and helps to create a culture oriented towards improving the service and pursuing excellence. This recognition is particularly significant for us, as it comes from an external Certification Body, with all the experience of AENOR," he said.

Rafael García Meiro, CEO of AENOR, emphasised the importance of the certification of different customer segments and highlighted Santander's proximity and support for companies, especially during the pandemic.

At the close of the first quarter of this year, Santander Spain's loans to companies totalled 94,000 million euros. It is the leading financial institution in this segment, with 33,000 million in ICO financing, representing a 27% share.

With this recognition, Santander has consolidated its position as the leading bank for Spanish companies and self-employed workers and is advancing in its mission to contribute to the progress of individuals and companies as a bank that is Simple, Personal and Fair.
