MRW, the first logistics group certified by AENOR for its management of COVID-19

3 September 2020. MRW has become the first logistics group in Spain to obtain the certificate of AENOR anti-COVID-19 certification This mark guarantees the measures that have been applied for the employees of the company's work centres and platforms.

The AENOR certification is an external endorsement to support the effectiveness of the safety measures implemented by MRW and that it also complies with the guidelines established by the Ministry of Health on matters concerning COVID-19 prevention and hygiene. Once the mark has been granted it is valid for a year, but must be monitored every three months.

"Our top priority is to protect the health and safety of our workers and customers. AENOR's support for our work in combating COVID-19 confirms that the measures we have put in place ensure the safety of our company's spaces," affirms Emma Lerín, Human Resources Director of the MRW Group.

"This certification generates confidence among workers and customers; A key aspect for the economic and social recovery of the effects of the coronavirus crisis. This step taken by MRW is consistent with its service quality and demonstrates its commitment to continuous improvement," said Javier Mejía, Strategic Marketing and Product Director at AENOR.

The assessment carried out by AENOR assesses aspects such as risk management; occupational health and safety management; the training, information and communications developed; the organisational measures (control of capacity and distances), and protective measures (use of PPE), as well as good cleaning and hygiene practices, among other things.

MRW has implemented a protocol with anti-COVID-19 measures, as well as a contingency and business continuity plan. With the arrival of coronavirus in Europe, the company developed a series of protocols and instructions on handling the COVID-19 situation. The measures carried out in the company's day-to-day operations include good cleaning and disinfection practices for work centres and training workers in teleworking and coronavirus, as MRW has introduced teleworking for its administrative staff.

Providing employees with Information via notifications on procedures, guidelines and instructions concerning COVID-19 has been a priority. The company has also implemented organisational measures such as limiting the use of common areas, providing workers with PPE (masks, gloves), supplying hydroalcoholic gel for staff use, placing of waste paper pedal bins with lids, supplying operations staff with an extra summer uniform, contracting an external company to monitor that the safety measures implemented by the company are being carried out and the taking of employees' temperatures before they start work.
