MAPFRE, the first IBEX 35 company recognised by AENOR in its voluntary management

05/12/2019

5 December 2019. -MAPFRE is the first IBEX 35 company to obtain the quality certificate for AENOR in accordance with the ISO 9001 Standard for the management of its corporate volunteering activity.

The certificate assesses the quality of the volunteering management carried out by the company in Spain to improve the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in society. At the close of October 2019, more than 2,000 volunteers among MAPFRE employees and family members in Spain helped almost 40,000 people in need.

In Spain, the company's volunteers have dedicated more than 5,800 hours to volunteering activities, as well as collecting nearly 5,000 kilos of food last year, raised more than 90,000 euros in different projects and around 900 people have donated blood.

AENOR's Quality Certificate is based on ISO 9001, the most widely-used quality management tool in the world. It verifies that MAPFRE complies with the established requirements and has integrated a management system focused on achieving excellence in customer service through efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement.

Similarly, the Non-Life Technical Area has extended the ISO 9001 certification, which accredits the importance of incorporating quality in the company's day-to-day business processes in the subscription processes of new home and car production (individuals) and of civil liability and corporate damages.

Executives of MAPFRE ESPAÑA such as Rocío Aragonés, Director of Human Resources; Álvaro Guitart, Director of Employee Experience; and Javier del Rio, Non-Life Technical Director, have recently received this recognition from Manuel Romero, Director of Business Development at AENOR.
