The 2020 General Shareholders' Meeting of Banco Santander has received the first verification of AENOR's "Protocols for events and COVID-19"

27/10/2020

  • The event has obtained a double recognition; besides the verification of measures against the coronavirus, Banco Santander has also obtained Sustainable Event certification.

27 October 2020. AENOR has delivered Banco Santander the first verification of "Protocols for events and COVID-19" for the measures applied during the 2020 General Shareholders' Meeting held today.

To achieve this verification, the Board successfully passed a prior documentary evaluation and another during the event in which auditors verified the correct application and implementation of all measures. These range from prior training in coronavirus protocols for all personnel involved in the organisation, facilitating protection measures for all attendees and the deployment of a specific cleaning and disinfection plan for the event.

The methodology of this certification is based on permanently updated recommendations of national and international organisations and implies a comprehensive approach to the management of events and risks derived from COVID-19.

This verification aims to provide organisations with a tool that generates the highest possible level of assurance in the organisation of events, demonstrating to customers, employees and the general public a commitment to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Finally, it should be noted that this event was doubly accredited for Banco Santander, since in addition to the verification of the protocol against COVID-19 for events, it also received "Sustainable Event" certification according to ISO 20121, which accredits that all processes of an event, from planning to post-event actions, follow sustainability criteria to reduce their impact and generate economic, social and environmental benefits for the community.
