01/10/2020

  • The Murcia food company joins the limited group of Spanish corporations that have obtained this accreditation.
  • AENOR thus recognises Juver's commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment.

1 October 2020. Juver Alimentación, a leading company in the juice manufacturing sector, has recently obtained the Zero Waste certificate that AENOR is granted to organisations that integrate into their environmental strategy a clear commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment.

It is a certificate of great importance in the field of the environment and with international recognition. Furthermore, for the large international distribution chains whose suppliers hold this environmental certification, it adds a seal of guarantee and confidence to the supermarket shelves.

This certification, granted to a select group of Spanish corporations, make Juver one of the leading national food companies to achieve this recognition.

Ricardo Moreno, Operations Director of Juver Alimentación, stated that "this is another step in our company's sustainability strategy as an environmentally friendly company and it joins the other initiatives that have been launched in recent months, such as the award of Carbon footprint for its products and the consumption of 100% electricity from renewable energy sources."

For his part, Ángel Luis Sánchez Cerón, AENOR director in the Mediterranean Region, added that "this certificate is in line with the circular economy guidelines and it assists compliance with the regulatory regulations, ensuring that organisations minimise and assess the different waste fractions that they generate on a continuous basis. That is, they are designated to be reused, recycled or recovered with energy recovery and are not destined to landfill. In addition, it can improve the costs associated with waste management."

The objectives set by Juver in its sustainability strategy, such as reducing, reusing, recycling and recovering waste that occurs throughout the production chain to become more sustainable, have earned it the right to be recognised for its efficient waste management challenge.
