31 July 2018. ILUNION Sociosanitario is the only Spanish company of its kind to be awarded the innovative Healthy Workplace certificate that AENOR gives to companies that structurally promote and protect the health, safety and well-being of their employees in a sustainable manner.

"In ILUNION, in general, and in ILUNION Sociosanitario, in particular, we are determined to be the best place to work. We are adopting a number of measures and would like to keep a close eye on our people, employees, users and family members. An important aspect when it comes to our workers is a healthy working environment," says ILUNION Sociosanitario's CEO, Joaquín Leizaola, who emphasizes the company's effort to be "the first in the industry" in terms of innovation and groundbreaking initiatives.

In order to take care of the health and safety of its users and employees, both inside and outside the working environment, ILUNION Sociosanitario has implemented a number of initiatives based on internationally recognised criteria.

As a result, it has set up breakfasts and organized various campaigns and projects to boost physical activity, such as step competitions, bicycle events, paddle tennis matches and popular races; to encourage healthy habits in the elderly and their family members; and increase awareness of the importance of disease prevention.

In addition, it has provided medical and health services and implemented various self-care activities, such as Back Schools and stretching workshops; it has configured an ergonomic workplace; and has undertaken measures to help reconcile work and family life, such as help with childcare and flexible working hours, among others.
