12/06/2020

  • This certification recognises the effectiveness of the anti-COVID-19 security measures put in place by Gestair to ensure the safety of its passengers and crews.

12 June 2020. Gestair has become the first aeronautical company in Spain to obtain this certification from AENOR anti-COVID-19 certification This mark is applied to all aircraft that the company manages, maintains and stores, as well as guarantees the safety of passengers and workers and its implementation in all the company's centres.

The AENOR certification is an external endorsement of the effectiveness of safety measures implemented by Gestair and that it also complies and surpasses the recommendations and requirements of the different aviation authorities issued by national and international bodies on matters of COVID-19 prevention and hygiene.

Carlos Gericó, Managing Director of the Gestair Group, stated that "our work is based on the safety of our customers. Protecting the health of passengers and crews is now a top priority. AENOR's support for our work in combating COVID-19 confirms that the measures we have put in place are correct."

"This certification promotes confidence among all the groups involved; A key aspect for the economic and social recovery of the effects of the coronavirus crisis. Gestair's step is consistent with the company's service quality and its desire for continuous improvement," declared Rafael García Meiro, CEO of AENOR.

The assessment carried out by AENOR assesses aspects such as risk management; occupational health and safety management; the training, information and communications developed; protection (use of personal protective equipment), as well as good cleaning and hygiene practices, among other things. Once the stamp has been obtained it is valid for a year, but must be monitored every three months.

Gestair has launched a large plan of preventive health and safety measures for passengers and crews: it performs PCR tests for pilots and flight auxiliaries every 15 days, ensures the maintenance of safety distances, provides its employees and passengers with hydroalcoholic gels and face masks, carries out temperature checks on crews, guarantees air quality inside the aircraft and performs disinfection cleaning of its aircraft with high performance, aviation-compatible antiviral products, among other things.
