7 February 2019. Cecabank has obtained the Energy Management Certificate of
AENOR which certifies the financial institution's compliance with the requirements of the UNE-EN ISO 50001 Standard. With registration number GE-2018/0038, this certificate recognises Cecabank's implementation of an Energy Management System that is committed to continuous improvement, as well as to the efficient energy consumption in its buildings at Calle Alcalá 27 and Caballero de Gracia 28-30 in Madrid.
According to ISO (International Organization for Standardisation) studies, the advantages of applying this Energy Management Standard revolve around saving between 5% and 30% of companies' total energy costs.
This certificate helps to manage and reduce energy consumption in companies, with the positive influence gained by reducing the associated financial costs and greenhouse gases.
Cecabank's Corporate Environmental Policy, detailed in its Energy Policy, meets the requirements of the UNE-EN ISO 50001 Standard. This specifies the savings and energy management objectives that have been set out by the company.
Its implementation and compliance, led by Senior Management, does not only concern the entire workforce, but also all external agents and organisations that carry out activities for the bank.
This Energy Policy, backed up and accredited by the aforementioned Energy Management Certificate, establishes the guidelines for Cecabank's energy commitment, including energy savings, the adoption of practices that contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the consumption of energy-efficient products and services.
Cecabank has the AENOR certificate of Quality Management Systems according to the ISO 9001:2015 standard for Securities and Deposit Services (Design and provision of fund deposit and settlement services, administration and custody of securities), for Collections and Payments (Exchange, compensation and settlement of collections and payments operations), for the design and delivery of training courses in the banking field and granting of professional certifications in the School of Banking Training and for the Pyramid Financial Reporting Services (including regulatory analysis and technical support necessary for complete management of the reporting cycle). It also holds the Information Security Management System certificate in accordance with the ISO 27001:2014 standard for systems that support the exchange and processing of SEPA debit and credit transfer files.
Furthermore, Cecabank's Criminal Compliance Management System is certified according to UNE 19601:2017.
The certificate awarded comes in addition to all the previous accreditations, demonstrating Cecabank's commitment to excellence and ongoing improvement throughout its entire scope of activity.
