26 February 2020. -Cobadu received the recent certifications in Animal Welfare and Traceability for its pig farms at a gala attended by more than 130 farmers. The opening and moderation of the event was carried out by Alberto Megía, pig manager of Cobadu, who praised the "teamwork and the great effort of his livestock farmers and colleagues." Megía highlighted the fact that the cooperative is a pioneer in Spain in holding the PAED certification and also pointed out that it is the third national entity with the three phases of the certification audited. He also addressed the livestock farmers to encourage them to maintain their certifications and to face new challenges by striving towards Animal Welfare.

The next speaker to take the floor at the seminar was Sandra Montejano, AENOR's food manager, who addressed the farmers and the technical team of Cobadu to explain and disclose the contents of the certificates and to clarify the results of the audits carried out on the farms. Montejano highlighted the good connection between veterinarians and technicians, with livestock farmers and animals observed in the audits, and encouraged them to continue working along the same lines to continue to be at the forefront of the sector.

The director of ANPROGAPOR, Miguel Ángel Higuera, was unable to attend the seminar in person due to prior commitments, but he wanted to be present through a video in which he conveyed his congratulations to all those present. Higuera showed his support to both the farmers and the whole cooperative so that they could continue working to achieve excellence in their production system and to work in harmony, overcoming the current challenges of the sector.

Inmaculada García, AENOR director in Castile and León, presented the certifications to Rafael Sánchez on behalf of the entire cooperative. "Today is a major step that must also be considered a point and a step forward, an impulse for farmers and technicians to continue to make progress in this area, and to continue to be at the forefront of the sector," explained the managing director of Cobadu. "This is a commitment not only to Animal Welfare, but to society in general, as through these certifications we offer greater information and transparency to the consumer."
