AENOR awards the Sustainable N Mark certificate to 9 factories producing processed steel products for concrete reinforcement.

13/03/2023

  • The awarding of the mark reflects these manufacturers' commitment to sustainability
  • The AENOR N Sustainable Mark will enable the main construction stakeholders and individuals to recognise products that identify with society's values.

13 March 2023 AENOR has awarded its certification AENOR N Sustainable Mark to 9 factories in the industry of processed steel products for concrete reinforcement. They are as follows: Teinco (reinforcing steel), Celsa Steel Service Illescas (reinforcing steel), Celsa Steel Service Castellbisbal (reinforcing steel), Celsa Steel Service Dos Hermanas (reinforcing steel), Megamalla (electrowelded mesh), SN Transformados (drawn steel products and electrowelded mesh), Aceros Para La Construcción (drawn steel products, electrowelded mesh and basic reinforcement), A.G. Ferro-Mallas (drawn steel products and electrowelded mesh), and Global Special Steel Products Tycsa (prestressed concrete wires and strands).

The awarding of the mark reflects these manufacturers' commitment to sustainability. To this end, the ESG Sustainability has been assessed, that is, from the environmental, social and governance fields, developed in the Structural Code for these kinds of manufacturers. In addition, the AENOR N Sustainable Mark makes it possible to study these companies' performance over time, since it is renewed every year, which motivates them to improve constantly.

Yolanda Villaseñor, Director of Product Certification at AENOR, states that "the AENOR N Sustainable Mark helps to reinforce and promote the important commitment that the steel sector has been making for more than 50 years in terms of sustainability through the gradual reduction of CO2 emissions per tonne of steel produced, an essential element for achieving an economic environment that stands out competitively in the long term".

These certifications are added to the Sustainable N Mark for 14 steel factories awarded in 2022, and they reinforce the steel industry's commitments for construction in the field of sustainability.

Green Building

AENOR N Sustainable Mark provides the basis for the Sustainable Building Certification, a pioneering mark in the market and in the construction sector that combines the ESG sustainability of the agents involved (architect, materials and builder) and an evaluation of the building's European Level(s) criteria.

This certification allows architects, construction professionals and public administrations to choose the right products to ensure good environmental, economic and social performance. Presentation of the AENOR N Sustainable Mark Certificate to Inrialsa
