Transparency and Accountability are two of the fundamental principles of Social Responsibility set out in the international standard ISO 26000.
GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) is the international benchmark for preparing sustainability reports, documents where organizations report on the economic, environmental and social aspects of their activities, products and services.
The independent verification carried out by AENOR certifies that a sustainability report complies with the principles and directives specified by the GRI and that the information contained therein is accurate. Better quality, usability and credibility of information and management processes. In addition, it accredits the reliability of information contained in it, which makes this communication tool a demonstration of an organisation's commitment to Sustainable Development, the most effective way to provide stakeholders with useful, reliable, comparable and material information on the management of the organisation's environmental, social and economic impacts.
Benefits for the organisation:
In reference to compliance with Act 11/2018 on non-financial information statements, the Global Reporting Inititative (GRI) is the framework most recommended by law for the preparation of the report and non-financial key performance indicator report required by the same.
AENOR offers the integration of the verification of the sustainability report in accordance with the law and in accordance with the GRI, providing the organisation, once the process has been satisfactorily completed, with the Verification Opinion in accordance with Law 11/2018 and the verification certificate in accordance with GRI.
The IQNet SR10 Social Responsibility Management System offers a process structure for key indicators to report in the Sustainability Report or Non-Financial Reports. Systematizing the calculation and analysis of indicators will reduce the time and effort invested in the preparation of annual reports, provide reliability and accuracy to the information contained in the Report, and provide the organisation with a tool for the continuous improvement of its performance in areas of Social Responsibility.
Once AENOR's verification process has been completed, the organisation will obtain the AENOR Verification Opinion on Sustainability Reporting in accordance with the GRI, which will be incorporated into the Report.
AENOR has been verifying sustainability reports in accordance with GRI for over 15 years. More than 200 organisations have chosen AENOR as a MARK OF TRUST.
The organisation is also a member of the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) community, an international agreement whose function is to promote the preparation of Sustainability Reports for their voluntary use by organisations that wish to give information on their activities, products and services in relation to economic, environmental and social matters. This means it participates in the development and maintenance of the GRI standards.
