The UNE 19603 standard provides the necessary guidelines to establish, develop, implement, evaluate, maintain and continuously improve a Competition Compliance Management System.

Requirements of standard UNE 19603

Based on the context and stakeholder analysis, this standard sets out the requirements for establishing the methodology for the identification of obligations for promoting free competition, as well as the identification and assessment of the associated risks.

The standard takes into account proportionality and the risk approach when applying requirements such as due diligence with the members of the organisation and with third parties, training or communication.

The standard is supplemented by management system elements such as setting objectives and indicators and performing internal audits and appropriate reports to facilitate continuous improvement.

Benefits of certifying this compliance management system

  • Collusive behaviour.
  • Abuse of a dominant position.
  • Distortion of competition due to unfair acts.
  • Economic concentrations of organisations that have not been reported or authorised.
  • Public or State aid that exceeds regulatory limits and/or may restrict free competition.

For this reason, the UNE 19603 Standard is useful for managing the competition risks to which all entities may be exposed, but especially those that, due to their activity or position in the market, may have greater exposure.

This standard is integrated seamlessly with this management system established by UNE 19601UNE 19602 and ISO 37001, ISO 37301 and UNE 19604.
