N Mark for gas facility equipment and accessories

The N Mark for gas facility equipment and accessories certifies that the equipment and accessories comply with applicable national and European standards

AENOR product certification is carried out by the Technical Certification Committee, where all parties involved in the gas installations sector are represented: users, manufacturers, installers, public administrations, laboratories, etc.​​​​​​

AENOR continually monitors compliance with applicable requirements.

AENOR certification for these types of products covers the following equipment and accessories:

  • MPA/BP regulators with built in safety valves (UNE 60402-1, - 2)

  • Safety valves (UNE 60403), Regulating sets (UNE 60404-1)

  • PE-metal mechanical transition links (UNE 60405-1, - 2, - 3)

  • Manually operated metal keys (UNE-EN 331, UNE 60718, UNE 60708)

  • Non-metal flexible tubes (UNE 60712-3)

  • Stainless steel flexible tubes (UNE 60713-1)

  • Corrugated flexible screw-type metal safety tubes for connecting devices (UNE-EN 14800)

  • LPG regulators (UNE-EN 12864) Centralisation of meters (UNE 60490)

  • AENOR certification facilitates the commercialisation of gas equipment and accessories, as it is recognised on the market (gas distributors, installers, product distributors, etc.)

Guarantees compliance with public and private requirements

AENOR certification for gas facility equipment and accessories enables manufacturers to demonstrate compliance with the mandatory requirements provided for by the Technical Regulation on the distribution and use of gas fuels: Royal Decree 919/2006.

​​The following activities are performed in order to issue gas facility equipment and accessories with an N Mark:

  • Initial tests carried out in the AENOR laboratory on samples of hardware/fittings selected ar the production centre.

  • The product is inspected and the quality assurance system used to manufacture the products is audited in order to check that the particular requirements put in place in order to manufacture the product have been complied with.

  • Facilities are monitored on a regular basis in order to check that the original approval conditions of the quality assurance system have been maintained. Product samples are also taken from manufacturing centres in order to undergo partial testing at the AENOR laboratory.

Once an organisation passes the certification process, it obtains: ​

  • The AENOR product certificate
  • A licence to use AENOR's Mark of certified products
