ECO Platform is a European Association formed of the Administrators of EDP (Environmental Profuct Declaration) verification programmes, industrial associations and life cycle analysis experts,
which aims to guarantee the coherence of verified environmental information in accordance with European Standard EN 15804. Therefore,
ECO Platform is not a Programme Administrator,, but rather the verification is done by accredited organisations, including AENOR.
ECO Platform represents a
common, pan-European framework for EDPs developed in accordance with Standards ISO 14025 and EN 15804. The Programmes subject themselves to common quality and verification criteria,, which are frequented audited. At
2014 the first four Programmes in the ECO Platform were accredited, including
GlobalEPD by AENOR.
AENOR holds the vice chairmanship of the ECO Platform and actively participates in developing verification procedures that guarantee the quality and coherence of the environmental information communicated.
ECO Platform constantly works on updating the internal procedures to ensure conformity with all new requirements that come into force in the field of standardisation (primarily the European Committee
CEN/TC 350), regulations such as the criteria of green public purchasing (Green Public Procurement, GPP), or private initiatives such as building certification schemes.
ECO Platform Association website contains a list of recognised programmes, GlobalEPD Declarations and statements from other European Programmes registered on the ECO Platform.
The GlobalEPD declarations verified by AENOR in accordance with Standard EN 15804 can incorporate the logo
ECOPlatform EPD EN 15804 VERIFIED™. The logoECOPlatform EPD EN 15804 VERIFIED™ must always be used together with the
GlobalEPD Mark, in accordance with the criteria established by ECO Platform and AENOR.
