More added value for the consumer
The livestock sector is facing a series of challenges over the next few years caused by new consumer habits and increasing consumer awareness and sensitivity regarding how animals bred for food production are raised.
Animal welfare aspects, their origin or the use of antibiotics are becoming increasingly important, and are contributing to improved competitiveness in the sector, along with added value for increasingly demanding consumers.
The processes of animal production on farms and in aquaculture centres involves the use of antibiotics, though these are applied selectively to avoid the spread of bacterial resistance.
Antibiotic Free Animal Production Certification. The audit procedure aims to determine the conformity of the entire antibiotic-free animal production process. In this respect, AENOR certification provides added value to improved consumer trust and to control strategies regarding bacterial resistance to antibiotics.
Primary Production, Food Industry
The Production of Animals Free of Antibiotics can be integrated with the Animal Welfare certificate, as well as management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 O ISO 45001 among others.
AENOR issued the first certificate for this product to the company Jamones Airesano S.L., certifying their antibiotic-free production of pork from weaning.
