There are many products related to fire safety. These products have to provide adequate safeguards when used to keep people and property safe, which is their main purpose, and they must also comply with regulatory requirements, such as those laid out in the RIPCI (Fire Protection Regulations). This can be done through the manufacturer, thanks to the AENOR N Mark which, among other aspects, certifies conformity with the applicable requirements and allows the manufacturer to demonstrate said compliance.
This certification obliges products to comply with internal and external control requirements, this being the main benefit that AENOR provides to ensure the safety of people and goods. It also helps obtain the trust of installers, users, government agencies, etc. associated with these products
When talking about products that provide passive protection against fires, we take the role we play very seriously. Since 2000, AENOR has been certifying families of products with its AENOR N mark, with collaboration from Tecnifuego as experts.
This voluntary certification focuses on the benefits of the audits and tests carried out by AENOR. This shows that products comply with the regulations and verifies that they are suited to their intended use, beyond complying with the safety requirements set forth in the applicable European regulations or directives.
AENOR's certification for fire protection devices is based on the requirements set out in the following directives: for pressurized equipment (PED) 2014/68/UE for fire extinguishers, and TPED Directive 2010/35/EU for portable fire extinguishers, and in the Construction Products Directive Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 for fire hydrants, fixed firefighting systems and smoke and heat detectors.
The AENOR N mark for smoke detectors, heat detectors, pressure gauges for portable extinguishers and fire hose couplings allows the manufacturer to demonstrate compliance with the regulatory requirements established in the Regulations on Fire Protection Systems (RIPCI).
Heat detectors UNE-EN 54-5
Point smoke detectors UNE-EN 54-7
Portable fire extinguishers UNE-EN 3-7 and UNE EN 3-8
Connector fittings for firefighting UNE 23400-1, 2, 3, 4, 5
Royal Decree 513/2017, which approves Regulations on Fire Protection Systems (RIPCI), states that compliance with the requirements established therein for devices, equipment, systems or their components must be justified, when required, which is the case with smoke detectors, through certification by a third party that can provide a corresponding mark, such as the AENOR Mark. AENOR Mark.
The AENOR N Mark for hose reels, smoke and heat detectors is accredited by the Spanish Accreditation Body (ENAC).ENAC).
The AENOR N Mark also certifies conformity with the applicable requirements and guarantees the manufacturer's compliance with the requirements specified in the regulations applicable to the following products:
Equipped fire hydrants
Pillar fire hydrants
Pressure hoses
Portable fire extinguishers
Point smoke detectors
Heat detectors
Underground fire hydrants
Hose nozzles
Mobile fire extinguishers
