AENOR N Mark for shower screens

The AENOR N mark for shower screens certifies that these products comply with national and European standards and AENOR regulations

The objective of AENOR Certification for shower screens is to ensure conformity with the requirements of each product. Among other things, this allows the manufacturer to demonstrate compliance with its customers' requirements, and, for products where this is relevant, compliance with regulations in force, such as the Technical Building Code (CTE)

The AENOR N Mark covers shower screens in accordance with Standards UNE-EN 14428:2005+A1:2008 and UNE-EN 14428:2005+A1:2008 ERRATUM: 2010

As a compliance assessor, AENOR is a leading product certification entity. With over 100,000 certified references, The AENOR N Mark, present in more than 40 countries, is one of the five most widely-used product quality marks in the world.

The AENOR N Mark is a voluntary mark that allows the company to demonstrate that their product meets certain provisions established in a UNE, EN or ISO standard, or in a technical specification. This demonstration of compliance during the manufacturing and testing of the final products, based on a rigorous control performed by AENOR, will allow licensees of the Mark to put their products on the market with a high standard of quality, instilling confidence in the users of these certified products.

This way, the AENOR N Mark provides the following advantages:

The manufacturer

  • Affords greater knowledge of the product via the exhaustive control set forth by the N Mark
  • Products that do not comply with relevant standards or regulations can be detected before they enter the market
  • Lowers the production costs since there is greater control during the manufacturing process.
  • There are commercial grounds to introduce the product into new markets and facilitate access to works

Business providers and monitoring agents

  • Guarantees that the product has undergone prior verification to determine its compliance with minimum requirements
  • Products with long-lasting confidence. Product assessments are ongoing, guaranteeing compliance with the initial certified provisions

Public Administrations

  • Guarantees that the prescribed product will comply with the applicable statutory requirements
  • Transparency of the AENOR certification process.
  • Strikes a balance among interested parties with regard to decisions on the certified products

The end user

  • Confidence from knowing that the product has undergone prior verification
  • Credibility; the product is assessed by a recognised certification entity

APPLICATION

The AENOR Mark is voluntary. Companies that want AENOR to certify their product must submit their application in accordance with the formats established by AENOR. This application must include information about the company and the characteristics of the products for which certification is sought.

Once AENOR technical staff have analysed the documents, compliance assessment activities will be performed in order to verify that the products comply with the applicable standards:

AUDIT/INSPECTION

A visit is made to the production centre to carry out the following procedures:

  • a) The quality management system is audited according to the requirements of UNE-EN ISO 9001 directly related to the production process.
  • b) The manufacturer's manufacturing process and production controls are inspected to ensure the product complies with the requirements of the standard.
  • c) Samples are taken and sent to a laboratory which performs the tests included in the standards. The manufacturer sends samples identified by the auditor to the laboratory.

TESTING

The laboratory performs the tests established by the standard and sends its report to AENOR.

GRANTING PROCEDURE

Using all the information on the activities performed, the Technical Certification Committee (independent body comprising all the interested parties: manufacturers, the Administration, users, monitoring entities and AENOR) will either propose to AENOR that the Mark be granted, or request that one of the activities be repeated due to non-compliance.

Once the Certificate has been granted, the process will continue as the monitoring activities required to keep it must be performed. Samples will be taken, and audits, inspections and tests will be performed on an annual basis. The results are assessed every year by the Technical Certification Committee which decides whether to maintain or remove the Mark.

Once the organisation passes the certification process, it obtains:

  • The AENOR product certificate
  • A licence to use AENOR's Mark of certified products
